Very rare coffee table / storage cabinet designed by Martin Visser for ‘t Spectrum Bergeijk, Holland 1956. This rare table was in production from 1956-1959. This is the only time I see it out of the Spectrum catalogue. I think it was sonly produced very little. The table has a grey lacquered wooden construction and a semi frosted glass top. There are 4 black lacquered metal legs underneath. The strange thing is that the sizes in the catalogue are not similar to the sizes of this table. So this could be a prototype. Spectrum was known for its changes during the making process so maybe the found the table too small when they first made it and changed the sizes afterwards. There are numerous examples where the sizes don’t add up with the sizes in the catalogue. This table is in spectacular original condition for its age and is a real collector’s item for a modernist design lover or collector.
