Henk van Putten, (1936 – 2019) "Less is more" is the ideal from which henk van putten has been trying for many years to make his constructivist, geometric work with the following characteristics: simplicity, strength, form, well-made and an intriguing construction. For him it still remains a battle with contradictory considerations. As a sculptor he was always researching the three-dimensional effects. Shape, dimensions and material determine the monumentality of an image. He always used a very limited number of basic shapes: the circle, the square and the triangle. He tried to achieve a metamorphosis in the form and especially in the spatiality of a basic form by applying very different materials and "translating" the basic concept into different expressions or "descriptions" of that basic form.
