Design iconic chair of all design chairs, this rare and worldwide famous so called red blue chair designed by one of the most important architects and designers Holland has ever known. This chair was originally designed in 1923 but was produced and made till now (by Cassina). There were several manufacturers, Rietveld, his cabinet maker Gerard van de Groenekan and now Cassina. Even after Gerrit Rietveld died, Gerard v.d. Groenekan made several chairs. Vd Groenekan was Rietvelds carpenter and he made most of his chairs after the first very few by Rietveld self.

This is for an important chair designed by Rietveld, made by Gerard van de Groenekan 1966. This chair is made of painted beech wood. The chair is in amazing original condition with only very minimal wear due to age and usage. This chair is still preserving the original and authentic patina because it is in pristine condition and hardly really used to sit on.

Provenance: this chair was purchased by Miss Hin-Hensen at Gerard van de Groenekan in 1966 and they only used the chair in the bedroom, that explains the excellent condition. The chair is brand marked with the vd Groenekan mark and also comes with an original certificate signed by vd Groenekan in 1988.
