Famous chair designed by Gaetano pesce for Vitra, Italy 1984. This chair was called after the street where Pesce started his company in New York, the Greene street. He still has his gallery there now. This chair is from the first production which is actually not a well made chair, the cast resin used on the first production process was not made to last. The resin hardened faster than expected and got breakable in a few years. You can recognize the first production because it doesnt glaze anymore. And the black color from the resin faded so this is more like dark grey. As every first production this has some cracks from usage but thank got they stopped sitting on it early enough to still be a part. This chairs is not for regular usage, but just a work of art. Every Greene street chair is different and. Hard to find with arm rest as well, most are without arm rests.
