Nice and rare industrial table designed by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel, Holland 1955. This example is from March 1962, stamped at the bottom of the table top. This table is the largest version made, 240 cm. This is the nicest version with octagon shaped top, finished with black linoleum and an aluminum edge. The table has a black lacquered (professionally coated) frame in excellent condition. It was originally black, but they also repainted it black so we restored it with preservation of authenticity. The table won, like a lot of designs by Friso Kramer, a Signe d´Or for its functionalism and design in that period! Would look great in any mid-century modernism design interior! This large table could use up to 6-8 chairs easily.
The designs of Friso Kramer are highly sought after because of their progressive designs. Even though his items were designed several years ago, they still fit in the daily interiors. Friso Kramer was a functionalist, all of his pieces are well thought about and amazingly executed. Even though most of his designs were produced in large numbers the process before that was really intense and time taking. And the result of that was a great production process with fantastic ergonomic result. Friso Kramer is often compared to Jean Prouve. Musea often show the Revolt chair next to the Standard chair by Jean Prouve, not without reason.
We are specialized in the industrial designs by Friso Kramer and we have built a large collection of Friso Kramer furniture. If there is anything you are interested in please contact us with your request.
