Very important industrial stacking chair model 9507/1, designed by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel in 1953. This chair has a chrome plated tubular metal frame and a white lacquered seat and back. This chair was also available in upholstered version with thick or thin cushion. The chair was designed to compete with the stackable chairs from Gispen, but it was too expensive to make so the production stopped very soon after its release. This is only the first time I see this chairs besides in the books. I am sure not many of these were made. Very nice shaped and comfortable side chair. Superb quality made and heavy. The seat and back are newly refinished as there were in very bad shape, the chrome and rubber floor protectors are in excellent condition. This is a museal chair, the only chair known to excist is a Centraal Museum, inventory number; 26331.

The designs of Friso Kramer are highly sought after because of their progressive designs. Even though his items were designed several years ago, they still fit in the daily interiors. Friso Kramer was a functionalist, all of his pieces are well thought about and amazingly executed. Even though most of his designs were produced in large numbers the process before that was really intense and time taking. And the result of that was a great production process with fantastic ergonomic result. Friso Kramer is often compared to Jean Prouve. Musea often show the Revolt chair next to the Standard chair by Jean Prouve, not without reason.
