Rare vanity set from the Euroika series designed by Friso Kramer for Auping, Holland 1963. This set contains a vanity mirror and storage cabinet. Both have a teak plywood casing and the cabinet has a plastic door with glass shelves on the inside. The mirror has a glass shelve too. Very nice and hard to find set in very good original condition without any remarkable damages that are unusual for their age.
The designs of Friso Kramer are highly sought after because of their progressive designs. Even though his items were designed several years ago, they still fit in the daily interiors. Friso Kramer was a functionalist, all of his pieces are well thought about and amazingly executed. Even though most of his designs were produced in large numbers the process before that was really intense and time taking. And the result of that was a great production process with fantastic ergonomic result. Friso Kramer is often compared to Jean Prouve. Musea often show the Revolt chair next to the Standard chair by Jean Prouve, not without reason.
