Highly rare and amazing large bookcase / room divider designed by Dom Hans van der Laan and executed for the Sint-Johannes Geboortekerk Nieuwkuijk, designed by his Brother Nico van der Laan, 1955. This early piece comes from the church where his brother Nico van der Laan was the architect for, this church was fully decorated with the designs by Dom Hans van der Laan, also this room divider for example. The table has a very nice and unusual off white (original) lacquer finish and has a very nice patina from age and usage. The bookcase is finished with iron hand forged nails, which was a trade mark for de Bossche School. The bookcase is fully finished around so it could use as a room divider as well. The bookcase is in very good original condition with a nice patina. The bookcase was fully designed by the proportions of the  ‘Plastic number’ which was designed by Dom Hans van der Laan. The building of the church started in 1949 and finished in 1955. The church was redecorated some years ago when a part of the furniture was relocated and a part was sold. Form this piece possibly only 1 was made for the church.
