Mathieu Mategot decorative folded bottle basket, Artimeta Soest 1955

Very nice folded white metal bottle basket, by Mathieu Mategot for Artimeta Soest 1955. A lot of people still doubt some items really are Mategot, but during the 1950s Mategot sold some rights to Artimeta to produce some products as Artimeta Mategot products. He designed some items for Artimeta which weren’t released in France but only in Holland so outside Holland these items are very hard to find. As also for this cool and decorative bottle holder. This basket is not documented in the book by Jousse enterprise, but not everything designed by Mategot is in the book, this 100% is Mategot. Very nice finished with can handle which is also typical for his designs. This wine basket is in perfect original vintage condition and would look very decorative in any interior.
