Nice TC2 floor lamp designed by Aldo van den Nieuwelaar, Holland 1969. This floor lamp was from the TC series that were designed in 1969 and at first produced in very small numbers, possibly only the prototypes by Domani designs is herengracht 113 Amsterdam. Those first TC lamps were presented in de werfkelder in May 1969. In 1972 Artimeta took these lamps into production. This is for a rare chrome version of the TC2, only 48 of these lamps were produced between 1972 and 1974, than the production for the TC2 stopped. The floor lamp has an amazing shape and the base contains the transformer that was quite heavy so this also was the counter weight for this lamp. At the bottom there is also a hole because this lamp was also designed to hang it to the wall. This particular lamp is a very early production number, stamped at the bottom ‘4’. The lamp is in excellent working condition and gives very nice light when lit. The chrome pipe can rotate so you can adjust the light beam. The lamp has only minimal wear due to age and usage but is completely original and working, also has its original thick TL lamp inside that gives very nice warm light when lit.
