Ado Ko Verzuu toy seating set Metz & Co 1932
Height: 15,5 cm
Width: 13,5 cm
Depth: 15,5 cm
Very rare and very early seating set by Ado, designed by Ko Verzuu for Ado Holland in 1932. Ado means Arbeid door onvolwaardigen, translated; labor by incapacitated, which makes this an even more special piece. Toys by Ado are being highly collected at the moment, even more than ever because this is very decorative combined with 1950s furniture from all countries! Very nice colorful toys, with crafted finishes, all handmade and hand colored. This is an early toy seating set and it’s in played condition but I think the patina makes this a very nice piece with aging to it. This set was bought at Metz&Co who first sold Ado in the 1930s, one chair still has the original sticker. Would look highly decorative as this can be used as a sculpture everywhere! Unmarked but the chair is in the collection of Coda Apeldoorn who has the biggest Ado collection in the world. A very good future investment.
