Friso Kramer Result desk, Ahrend de Cirkel 1958
Height: 75/45 cm
Width: 125 cm
Depth: 60 cm
Nice and rare industrial desk designed by Friso Kramer for Ahrend de Cirkel, Holland 1958. This desk is the first edition with super shaped feet. This desk is a very hard find because this was designed as teacher’s desk and there weren’t many of these around, only 1 was needed in every classroom. This has a heavy folded steel frame with one drawer which is ended in perfect efficiency. It has a Formica finished top and an original black lacquered base in original condition with surface wear! The desk won, like a lot of designs by Friso Kramer, a Signe d´Or for its functionalism and design in that period! Would look great in any mid-century modernism design interior!
The designs of Friso Kramer are highly sought after because of their progressive designs. Even though his items were designed several years ago, they still fit in the daily interiors. Friso Kramer was a functionalist, all of his pieces are well thought about and amazingly executed. Even though most of his designs were produced in large numbers the process before that was really intense and time taking. And the result of that was a great production process with fantastic ergonomic result. Friso Kramer is often compared to Jean Prouve. Musea often show the Revolt chair next to the Standard chair by Jean Prouve, not without reason.
We are specialized in the industrial designs by Friso Kramer and we have built a large collection of Friso Kramer furniture. If there is anything you are interested in please contact us with your request.
