Fantastic lounge chair Model 220 designed by Dirk van Sliedrecht for Rohé Noordwolde, Holland 1960. This chair was designed by Dirk van Sliedrecht who was a very famous Dutch designer, but also an interior designer, teacher and academy director. He belongs to the generation of designers as Friso Kramer, Wim Rietveld, Kho Liang Ie and many others who shortly marked their era after world war ll. His designs are influenced by Willem Penaat and Kaare Klint. As can be seen in the shapes and material usage on this chair.
The chair has a solid metal frame, black lacquered and rubber finished feet. The seat has birch and teak wooden slats, connected with a brass peg to create stability. This is for sure one of the nicest chairs he designer over 35 years. This chair is in excellent completely original condition preserving original patina from age and usage. But it doesn’t have any imperfections worth mentioning.
