Wim Rietveld large pyramid table for Ahrend de Cirkel 1959
Height: 75 cm
Width: 150 cm
Depth: 70 cm
RARE! Piece of Dutch industrial design, you can call this THE ICON of Dutch industrial design. This is for the very rare, but famous Pyramid table designed by Wim Rietveld for Ahrend de Cirkel in 1960. It has a fantastic foot, V shaped structure frame in light grey. And a very nice original formica top which is very nice looking on this table, more in the manner of the Jean Prouve tables as it already is inspired by that. The design was roughly inspired by the Compass table by Jean Prouve but this was made in this shape so It could be stacked and the Compass table can’t. As industrial design was designed to be cheap and good in use, this is one of the leaders of that quote! The table is marked Ahrend de Cirkel on the frame. This table won a signe d´or in 1960 which is very special for a design well functional as beautiful. The table is a great investment because it is becoming more rare and expensive every day and more and more people are discovering the Dutch designs every year!
