After all these years, I had almost forgotten that my long adventure in the Art and Craft field started with the creation and production of few tables in Belgium. That’s what Christian Heckscher said when I emailed him about this specific table. From only a short period between 1971 and 1974 he made about 20 tables in Antwerp, Belgium, after that he moved to the USA. All unique pieces in different designs, different materials were used, metal, brass, nickel and glass were the main materials. He made this table in 1972 and was probably one of the first he made he couldn’t remember exactly. If he had to make this table now, with the name he made in the US making art on doors and elevators of famous buildings, he could make this table for a retail price of $12000, since this is a very early design the value he would give this table would be higher than that. Fantastic piece of modern design, a work on its own, would be a true centerpiece of attention in any decorative design interior. Marked on the brass piece in the middle, Heckscher. Not all of his tables were signed but this one is. Table was made of nickel plated feet, and a smoked glass plate covered with a brass edge and figurative brass middle to cover the feet. A unique piece, take this one chance.
